What we collect

When you subscribe to a download or newsletter, we collect your email address. When you contact us by WhatsApp, email or our contact form, we receive the details you send. Contact form submissions are received and stored through our website host, Netlify, and used only to reply to your enquiry. We use privacy-respecting analytics (Google Analytics 4, Microsoft Clarity) to understand which guides help readers most.

Travel documents

If you use our trip planning or visa support service, we may receive copies of your passport, residence visa or Emirates ID, and other documents needed for bookings or a visa application. We use them only for your trip or your application. We share them only with the organisations that need them for that purpose, such as the VFS centre, hotels or airlines. We keep them in access-restricted storage and delete them after your trip or application is complete, unless the law requires us to keep them longer.

What we do with it

Emails are used to deliver the resource you requested and occasional updates about Japan travel. We never sell or share your data with third parties for marketing. You can unsubscribe with one click at any time.
