Quick answer
A private Japan tour means your family or the two of you travel on your own schedule, with your own car and hotels, instead of joining a group bus tour. You can stay in ryokan with private open-air baths, eat at restaurants that are hard to book, and see temples before they open to the public. It costs more than a group package, and it is planned around your dates, ages and pace. Our Japan tour packages from Dubai include hotels, airport transfers, a private car, the shinkansen and special experiences, all arranged around your family.
This page explains how a private trip differs from a group tour, what is included in a Japan package from Dubai, what it costs and three sample plans.

When to book
The best rooms at popular ryokan, English-speaking guides and private cars are booked early. As a guide:
- Cherry blossom season (late March to early April) and the New Year holidays: 9 to 12 months ahead
- Autumn leaves (October and November): 9 months ahead
- Other times of the year: 6 months ahead
Travelling sooner? Message us anyway. We will find the best combination of what is still available.
How we plan your trip
- Send us a message on WhatsApp. A short hello is enough to start. It helps if you can tell us when you would like to travel, how many adults and children (and the children’s ages), what kind of trip you would like (mainly Osaka, nature, the big city, food, relaxing…) and a rough budget. Not sure yet? That’s fine. We can decide together
- We listen first. We take time to learn about your family: the children’s ages, the pace you like, your food and hotel preferences, and the moments you are dreaming of
- We propose a plan made for you. Based on what you tell us, we suggest a route, hotels and special experiences
- We refine it together. We adjust the plan with you until it feels right, and then you confirm
See how we work for more details.
The best seasons for a private trip
- Cherry blossom (late March to early April): the most popular season. Book early
- Autumn leaves (November): see our autumn leaves guide
- Winter (December to February): snow, hot springs and winter lights
- Eid holidays: a good time for a shorter trip
For each season, see the best time to visit Japan.
For Muslim travellers
- We choose halal restaurants and confirm the food in Japanese. See halal food in Tokyo
- We plan your days around prayer times and prayer spaces
- We tell ryokan in advance about your food: no pork, and no alcohol in the cooking
- At a geisha evening or other places where drinks are served, we can arrange non-alcoholic drinks
See whether Japan is Muslim-friendly.
